The STEAM Incubator Will Host A Free Virtual Technology Workshop For VI Public & Private School Students

SEAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, The  STEAM Incubator will offer a free one-week virtual tech workshop to expose students to software, hardware, and engineering concepts.

 

Dates: July 27- August 1, 2020

 AGE: The workshop is designed for ages 13+

Applications are due by July 20, 2020

 

Autonomous Car Sensor Project: In this virtual workshop students will receive Lingo, a multimedia kit to build a sensor for an autonomous vehicle. The technology that students will build can prevent a vehicle from hitting an object or a person.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This workshop is hands-on and introduces students to how technology is used in various industries such as sports, medicine, fashion, and automotive. In addition, students will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts to learn more about STEM career opportunities. 

 

Students are required to provide their computer with internet access and enough bandwidth to support live video streaming. 

 

The workshop is made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands.
